so i’ve got a pair of sneaker for a good price. because it’s too plain, i decided to draw it. enjoy 🙂
I never made any resolution, because I afraid it would be accomplished. But I can say, year 2012 could be the best year in my life, because I socially more acceptable and I did more nice stuff like cooking, drawing, etc. Here’s the summary:
I got my first “big project”, an American football trophy requested directly from the club’s president which is also one of my old friend (actually, he proclaim himself as “president” instead “club leader”)
I joined various community, which is mean I got more friends, which is mean I more socially accepted. This guys were from Bandung Street Dance Community, where I learn how to Pop and Krump as well as Waacking and Urban Dance.
And the last, I bought my first rotary tool that was my wishlist for a couple year, with it, I could carve some miniature utensil, like this miniature wooden spoon.
I hope I could get more achievement on 2013, the biggest ones probably for my graduation, I hope I could finish my study on Social Science Education ASAP and graduated in august, 2013. And the other ones probably my love life, I’m hoping for a guy like “him”, someone that I’ve been crush for more than 6 years, but I know, we are different each other, so it can’t be made and I have to move on.
And for the ridiculous ones, I hope there’s no other movie about doom’s day prediction like the Hollywood did with the Mayan’s prediction. Seriously, it’s made nothing but chaos and joke about it.
I admit, I’m not good about drawing things. However, when I feel the pencil’s scrape on a paper, the satisfaction can’t be described. It could be the only reason why I keep drawing, even just a rough sketch about a stick man who trying to get a good wig, or a caricature that goes horribly wrong.
Sometimes when I’m on good mood, I could draw good things, even when I was 13, I could draw a good realistic Mike Shinoda face on the first attempt. Too bad I forgot where I keep it.
Talking about “things” that I could draw, I lately been obesesed with drawing hairs. One of my inspiration is the illustrations from this blog <http://meandacupofhotchocolate.blogspot.com/>. From her illustrations, she probably a fashion designer (I’m too lazy to find out) and she has a beautiful cat.
I love the the lining technique she used, it makes the hair and the shading more enchanting
Her drawing style could show figure of a fashionista girl these days, with “haggard” body, and various object that reflect its persona, such as owl and cat.
And so then, I start exploring my “data palace” for some woman pictures to draw, then start drawing since my mood already assembled. Here’s the sneak peak:
I start with draw the face and any additional detail such as neck and so on. Then I start draw an outline, divide it with various part as a guide where the hair “flow”.
After the whole part is drawn, I clean the white section with kneadable eraser. Beacuse I left handed, drawing and writing always leave much of mess.
The finished sketch.
Here’s some of the sketches, total of the image i’ve drawn is 5 woman figure, and of course, with hair as its focus.
This one is my favourite, I enjoying the hair lining process.
I plan to ink the sketches then color it with water color. I know that I can’t draw an exact same thing like this, so I look for safest way: make some copies and keep the original. Perhaps I could make some book cover with these sketches.
Inking the first sketch. This figure was reference of a famous photograph “afghan girl” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afghan_Girl.
Finished inking stage, not bad for an amateur.
Coloring process. I planned this step as experimental step, since this was a copied ones, so I could anticipate the worst thing happened. Like what should I do with the lip? So I leave it uncolored until I found out. Here the colored version of another sketches:
And the last picture, my messy table as usual.
Several months ago, one friend of mine has come back from Osaka, Japan, which is one of his dream. Because he went there for college purpose, we can’t ask lot of souvenir, so I just asked him to bring some sakura flower. Too bad he could only brought 3 buds, because when he went there, the spring is almost over in Japan, so he can’t more perfect bud of sakura flower, beside his schedule was very busy. I myself still glad, since what I want is listen his stories while in Japan, because going aboard is also my dream. And he also brought some weird snacks that smell and taste like fish food..
What I would do with these flower? Well, I was planned to make it as bookmark, 1 bud for each bookmark, the ones would be mine, and the other two would be him’s. Too bad at first attempt I horribly ruin it.
This the shot of the first bookmark. The “fish” figure on the bottom was made from flower buds (i forgot what the flower named), and the red dots was a liquid that I extracted from roses. It smell good, but seriously, I dissatisfied. So I threw it away, then realize that I glued one of the sakura flower into it. Damn.
Dissatisfied with the previous result, and I promised to give my friend the bookmark, I decided to put all the sakura flower into one bookmark. I planed to make the bookmark with some japan related doodle then watercolor it. I choose to draw yotsuba and danbo as well as the rising sun symbol.
Outline it with Lyra watercolor pencil.
I was worried the flower would be folded or the petal would detached, but the flower is perfectly glued without any folded buds. Phew.
Final result before going to finishing step.
To make it last longer and waterproof, I brought it to photocopy center and ask it to be laminated. Now I satisfied with the final result.
I wish I could shot how it looks during afternoon, but I have to give it to my friend ASAP since he wait it for several months.
